Centenary is over the moon that our resident Musical Director Malcolm Fallows beat many hopefuls and scooped the award for 'Best Musical Director' for Centenary's recent production of Titanic at the NODA awards in Blackpool last Sunday.
Please see our reviews and Awards page for more details
The Annual General Meeting was recently held and Centenary are delighted to announce some very special awards given to members on the evening.
Firstly congratulations to Theresa Dumencic and Clare Grimes for being members of NODA for 15 years.
Secondly, we saw our Secretary of 18 years, Beryl Rigby, pass on the baton she has held onto so admirably. After taking on a new role of NODA Representative, Beryl has decided to concentrate on other pursuits. We are very happy to say that she has agreed to remain on the general committee to offer expertise and guidance and also continue to meet and greet our audiences as Front of House Manager. In honour of her long service and dedication to Centenary, we were delighted to present Beryl with a Life Membership.
The last Award of the evening was a very special award indeed. After holding our 'Thats Entertainment' evening in memory of Alan Thomas last year, the previous committee thought it fitting that to honour Alan's memory and committment to Centenary, we would create a brand new award to be given to the most worthy candidate at each AGM.
This award was named 'The Alan Thomas Award for Outstanding Contribution' the committee felt that this special award should be given to someone whose committment throughout all aspects and roles within Centenary should be noted and rewarded, someone who is always a support and shows willing in all tasks which need undertaking.
The committee were delighted to present this years, the very first, award to Marilyn Baxter. Not only being involved in all plays and shows for a number of years, she is also seen at all social and fundraising events, at all marketing and publicity events, in all concerts, helping with set both before and after the show and generally always being available to 'lend a hand' Congratulations Marilyn, well deserved!
Life Membership
Many people involved with Centenary have been given the prestigeous Life Membership award by the Committee to thank them for their continued support over the years. For this we thank them
